Life without technology would be less spoiling, but very boring. It's definitely possible to live without those things, but barely. Technology has helped us a lot as a human race in the world (medical reasons, getting places, catching criminals). It's used both as a necessity and for entertainment purposes. So if there was a line between "necessary" and "unnecessary", I think it would qualify more of a necessity.
