Emergency

An emergency I had to almost deal with once was about 5 years ago, maybe longer. Our landlord came into the duplex (place I used to live at), and he was fixing something below the house. Can't quite recall what it was. I was the only one home at the time when he had done it. Anyways, the thing he fixed released a load of toxic feums (the ones you can't really notice). The carbon monoxide detector was reacting to it, but was making no noise to aware me since the battery was kind of dead. Luckily, someone came home before something bad happened. Think it was my dad and he looked at the thing and said the feums were sky high. I could have ended up in the hospital if lasted in there any longer. So we evacuated the house for a few hours and let it air out. These days, I would probably be more aware of my surroundings since I'm older, but this is certainly something other parents out there should take note of; silent but deadly.
